The village Selakano is signposted with wooden signs but as there is only one road you cannot miss it. Drive on through an imposing and beautiful gorge.
Continuing on the other side of the mountain you drive in beautiful natural surroundings – but watch out for the goats! You will finally arrive in a village where, in some respects, time has stood still.
Selakano is a small village situated around 900 metres above sea level, nearly as high as the Lassithi Plateau. There are wonderful views that give you the feeling that you are on top of the world. There is plenty of flora and fauna especially birds of prey. A little further on you will find a nice taverna where you can enjoy a frappe, soft drink or small snack.
There is also a small church which you can visit. If the door is locked, please enquire at the taverna and they will open the church for you.
